Extra Life second album

~ ~
Extra Life is an experimental band from Brooklyn formed in 2007.They combines elements of Medieval chant, metallic hardcore, dark neofolk, abstract modernism and lush pop.The band is lead by guitarist/vocalist Charlie Looker(member of Ocrilim, ex-Zs and ex-Dirty Projectors).
The band will be releasing its second album Made Flesh, on LOAF Recordings in March 2010, the new album is said to be
Both more accessible and more severe than their previous work, Made Flesh extends from fragile acoustic ballads to industrial symphonic assaults and deepens the band's signature heaviness while also exploring more psychedelic studio treatments, electronic textures and synths.

This is a review of an album called "This is the album of a band called Adebisi Shank" by a band called Adebisi Shank

~ ~
So its been a little over a year and a bit since Adebisi Shank released "this is the E.P of a band called Adebisi Shank", since then they toured the E.P extensively through out Ireland, Mick and Lar released an E.P with Terrordactyl , Vin released Rocky IV Reckyrd in his guise as The Vinny Club, ventured into UK and mainland Europe with label mates Marvins Revolt, done a tour of Japan with Lite (who themselves are on tour in Ireland in October) and gained a very enthusiastic American fan.

Giraffes? Giraffes!

~ ~

Giraffes? Giraffes! is a Santa Cruz duo that plays spastic post rock with a touch of free jazz. Its two members are Joseph Andreoli (guitar) and Kenneth Topham (drums), both also members of the larger band The Mothers Eggs.

Ken and Joe grew up in Massachusetts.
Even though they had never met, they both enjoyed the same amusement park. They both liked a ride called the Rotor. You would stand inside the Rotor and it would spin and you would stick to the wall and the floor would drop.
Joe once saw someone puke on the Rotor and it stuck to their face until the ride slowed down.Ken has never seen anyone puke on the Rotor.
Joe and Ken first met while going to college in New Hampshire. Ken studied music, while Joe studied literature.
They drank coffee and talked about the theory that whales were once sea creatures and they evolved into wolf-like creatures that ran on land, but they didn’t like it so they evolved back into sea creatures and eventually became huge fucking whales.
They formed a band.
They can both play guitar and drums, but in GIRAFFES? GIRAFFES! Joe taps and plucks while Ken taps and hits.
Ken and Joe and their very nice and very attractive girlfriends moved to Santa Cruz, California. They like it there. It’s nice outside.
LOVES IN HEAT records released the new GIRAFFES? GIRAFFES! album “More Skin With Milk-Mouth” on December 8th, 2007.

Zombi

Photobucket
Zombi is a progressive rock duo from Pittsburgh, consisting of Steve Moore on bass and synthesizers and Anthony Paterra on drumsThe group makes use of looping to create multi-layered compositions. They have toured with Don Caballero, Isis, Orthrelm, The Psychic Paramount, Daughters, Red Sparowes, These Arms Are Snakes and Trans Am.

Producing work that is epic in concept, sound, and artistic approach, Steve Moore and A.E. Paterra, the masterminds and multi-instrumentalists behind Zombi, have re-imagined the architecture of progressive rock and dynamic instrumentals -carving a niche in underground music distinctly their own
The band's signature sound, achieved using only electric bass, drums, and a collection of analog synthesizers, is deceptively lush considering its two man skeleton crew ensemble. Moore's bass playing and meticulous synthesizer programming interacts seamlessly with Paterra's controlled, precision drumming -as if each man is anticipating his counterpart's next move. Punctuated by Moore and Paterra's seasoned songwriting skills, each Zombi song -whether grand in design like "Night Rhythms" from Surface To Air or powerful and driving like "Orion," the opening track on Cosmos -is entirely autonomous and true to the duo's creative vision.
